After much delay I am back to work. Part of the reason I’ve been inactive was lack of new material but after attending the Mayhem Festival I have tons of new photos to share. At this time I’ve made a selection of pictures to work on for a gallery post that will go up on M3talN3rd first and then I will post the same gallery here along with everything I’d previously been working on.
Then I plan on doing more Mayhem shots because I got a lot of really good ones that I think you’d enjoy. So, keep an eye out, I’ll try to get this done as soon as possible. It might be pushed back because I am trying to find that balance between running my music news page M3talN3rd and this one.
Hey everyone, I’ve started a website for metal/rock news. It’s something I’m doing to try and get more involved with music and help me with my photography as well. I hope to be able to use this as a means to eventually start getting press passes for shows so I can take better shots at shows.
I’m making an effort to post relevant music news every day and really take this seriously but I need your help and would appreciate if you guys checked it out. I am not abandoning this page and plan on continuing posting pictures here but now I’d like to take it a step further and get more involved. Obviously, it’s backed up some progress here but part of that is also due to the fact that a lot of the pictures that I’ve been editing are different shots from the same shows and I’d like to bring you more pictures from different shows. Fortunately I’m attending the Mayhem Festival this week so I’ll have new shots to bring you. There are many concerts lined up from now til the end of the year so there will be plenty of coverage and pictures, stay tuned!
I just now saw that I have 300 followers! It put a smile on my face to see that, I want to thank everyone for their support. I know I’m not as consistent w/ my photography as I probably should be but thanks for sticking around. It really means a lot to have your support! Thanks again and I promise to get another round of pictures up soon.
Have you ever taken a moment to stop and consider the odds? When you stop what you’re doing and you take the time to consider the odds of the things that happen to us as individuals, even the smallest things, it’s insane. I mean, just take the time to think of the people you meet in your life just because you decide to go to the supermarket one day or because you deviate from your routine. There are so many factors to take into account with all the things that happen in our everyday lives.
It really makes you realize how beautiful the universe is.
Because I’m keeping you all waiting, here’s a preview of what I’ve got to come. Each one of these will be posted individually later on when I’m done w/ the entire batch. I’m planning on posting around 200 that way I can just set a queue to post 10 a day.
There’s been a bit of a delay concerning this next batch of pictures -_- . I do have several pictures picked out but the summer semester got started the week after the Ghost show and now that’s been a bit pushed back. Not to mention other projects I’ve got going on. In case you’re interested I’ve been jotting down riffs and writing those ideas down on Guitar Pro 6.
*ENTER SHAMELESS PLUG* It’s a really neat program and affordable. It’s not like ProTools or anything like that, it’s tablature software so you can write whatever beats come into your head and actuall have it written down along with simulated instruments so you can get an idea of what the actual track might sound like. You can include the key, use different time signatures, change the value of your notes, it’s really cool! If you get the Deluxe Soundbank Edition, that’s like $10 more or something, you get additional effects, amps, and other crap. Again,it’s pretty. If you are at all interested, you can get more info at Guitar Pro’s website and you can find the regular verision here and the Deluxe Soundabank Edition here
On to my next shameless plug, haha, I have also been spending some time on Codecademy
. If you don’t know what that is, it’s this really sweet website where you can get the basics of HTML, CSS, Java, Python, and several other programs for FREE! I know there are a ton of people on here that already have a knack for this type of thing but for those that don’t this is a good place to start and then you can come on tumblr and practice by fucking around and making blogs. I made this post using the HTML optioin so I could practice a little of what I’ve learned.
Anyway, so yea, just thought I’d keep you posted. I’m doing this because I’ve lost followers in the past and I’m guessing that’s because of waves of inactivity so I’m letting you know that I’m not going anywhere. I will continue to go to shows for as long as I can to take the best pictures I can so that I can share them with you all. Given that last note, I’d like to thank all my followers, old and new, I truly appreciate every note I get. My pictures are certainly not the best out there but every note count and it means that I’m doing something right. Don’t know if I’ll ever be one of the cool press pass people but with technology moving the way it is, I might not need to be. So hopefully I can deliver even better shots in the coming years without having to give up a day job. Anyway again, HUUUUUUUUUUGE thanks to you all!!!!!!!! I’m out! \m/
Currently making selections from my pictures, more shots from the shows I’ve been to in recent years and some new ones from the past weeks. Bands include: Thrown Into Exile, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Whitechapel, Gwar, The Absence, The Mirage Theory, From The Embrace, Carcass, Behemoth, Goatwhore, Enslaved, In Flames and Havok.
Gonna start working on what I’ve got right, it will be another few weeks though because Black Label Society is playing in my town next week and Ghost the week after so I’d like to include shots from those shows in this next set.
I hope everyone enjoyed the last batch of pictures that have been posting over the past weeks. I’ll be working on more again, been tutoring and school stuff going on. Also, been to a few shows so I’ve got new pictures to from shows other than the last year’s Mayhem Festival among other shows from last year and before.
Some of the upcoming pictures are of Carcass, The Absence, Abigail Williams, and Behemoth. Some more upcoming shows that I plan on shooting are Black Label Society at the end of the month and Ghost on the first week of May.
